How a right of passage inspired a Chefs Brigade classic.

As a seasoned chef, I am often asked about my schooling. For this I have two answers. There’s the polite one; two years in the North of France, lessons by day and many nights of cheap booze.

And then there’s the truth.

The truth that I never finished my schooling, in that a good chef is always learning. Every dish, every kitchen, every little old lady sharing passed-down, secret family recipes- each a lesson reminding me to remain open and curious. While I cannot tell people when I truly become a chef, I can tell people when I first looked like one. I left that infamous school in France the same way I started; wearing my very first chef's coat, The Imperial, and no less a student than the day I first arrived.

After years of many coats and even more lessons, I finally understand how my first coat earned its name. The Imperial, meaning that of an empire and the proud history behind it, did not imply my arrival at greatness but an ever-growing commitment to building upon it.

14-Day Policy: Request returns or size/colour exchanges within 14 days of receipt. Items must be unworn, unused, and in original packaging.

Courier Fees: Customers cover return courier fees (except for manufacturing defects reported within 7 days, which we cover fully).

Exclusions: We cannot accept returns on embroidered items, sale items, gift cards, or certain shoes.
