The Era of Creatives

THE ERA OF THE CREATIVES -
THE CREATIVE REVOLUTION
By: Brennan Carey - Co Founder Chefs Brigade
This past weekend we did a photoshoot for our clothing brand, Chefs
Brigade to showcase our new product line to the chefs community and
create some marketing content for both our sales catalogue and our
social media channels. Having all these creative people fror-n different
industries got me thinking about something that has been on my mind for
a while now.

Many people believe that we have
entered into the creative revolution.
I as someone in the clothing industry
strongly believe we are indeed at the
very beginning of a new creative era
which has been born through social
media which is giving the creatives
their biggest voice ever, putting them
firmly right front and centre of this
new current wave.

Those who have the ability to create and leverage that creativity on
social media platforms will win in the long run no matter if you are Chef,
a clothing designer, a photographer or a videographer as I am using
here in this example, these are all artistic, creative fields which have often
through history been pushed to the back by more tangible skills and
professions.
It has almost become the norm for creatives to be poor, in a way for
creatives to think its "trendy to be poof' and thus a creative. This is old
school mindset, but dont get me wrong creativity is not come from a
money making mindset, but we are in a new era were technology is the
driving force and we need to make sure creatives are not left behind.

During our photoshoot I mentioned there was a interesting mash up of
various creative fields all working together from clothing design and
culinary arts, through to the capturing of those creatives via
photography and videography to create their own art. It was very
interesting to see and experience, we were all creating something new
and interesting in our world and doing what we are passionate about,
and lucky for us we get to call it our job and profession.
In this new age, creative sits side by side with technology and in the long
run creative actually wins because A1 and the machines cannot create,
so our future is bright, you just need to take the steps. Those that need to
worry are in the professions that technology can replace, things like
banking, accounting, manufacturing jobs are all fields that may become
redundant. Lets be honest no machine is going to cook a fine dining
meal any time soon!

This is all well and good to have the
talent in your creative profession, the
technical skills, the passion but it
counts for less than 10% of
commercial/ financial success. We
have all heard of the struggling artists
who die poor only be be world
famous thereafter. The reality is
business makes up the other 90% of
your commercial SUCCeSS things like
strategy, planning, marketing things
which many creatives run away from.

I encourage everyone to embrace their creativity in any way and
express it and create your niche in this new era, the creative revolution is
here, whether you are looking to start your own restaurant, get that new
Executive Chef position in a leading hotel or just rise up through the ranks
of the Brigade. Make it work for you by acknowledging that its all about
marketing and exposure to get your ideas, projects, dishes, content and
above all profile out there, no matter if you are a student chef or a
Executive chef in the worlds top hotels its time to create and share your
skills with the community and elevate your creativity for all to see.
The future is bright for creatives.
